Ombre Hair Color

Yes Ombre hair is still ever so popular. I am definitley a fan! Yes it does mean less money in my pocket but more in the pocket of my clients. Unless you have those pesky and unavoidable “silver hilites” that are neccessary to touch up every 4-6 weeks. Ombre hair can last you quite a while before you need to be back in your stylists chair. Ombre color is a gradual change in color. Whether it be dark to light or light to dark.

Personally I used to be very blonde and got sick of costantly having to have my hair hilighted. So I switched to solid blonde, having to do a bleach and tone, which to me is way worse! Its so hard to get my hair light enough and to get consistant results. As a hair stylist you get your hair done by pretty much who ever is available at the time. We all know no person is the same. So after years of coloring my hair, and years of having horrid enviromental allergies I soon began having reactions to everything I put on my scalp. Now came time to get a root extension and color my regrowth dark. Dark like my natural. How odd right? Lets spend all this time to color my hair light and pretty and blonde and now lets make me look like I have had a years worth of a regrowth. Well again its not for everyone. Its lovely! I have been wearing my hair like this for a couple years. Do I get bored of it? Yeah sometimes so maybe I will give it a little more contrast and lighten my ends more or add more warmth. It works well with the beachy waves I have some how adopted as my own. My hair looks like I have been out in the sun, on a beach and my hair has just naturally lightened itself. So easy! And until my greys grow more dominant, my natural color is my base color. And how awesome and low maintenance is that?

Heres a couple of my fav celebrities with this look, and a couple that should maybe rethink it. AND a pic of my hair.. Well my ends. My trusty turban is covering up my greasyness!
